Senior Visualfiles Developer
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Visualfiles Developer at a leading nationwide Conveyancing Firm and take ownership of complex workflow design and system optimisation. In this key role, you will act as a subject matter expert, driving best practices and directly shaping the firm's strategic technological future.
The Role:
In this senior role, you will take ownership of complex workflow design, application development, and system optimisation within Visualfiles. You will act as a technical authority—driving best practice, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating closely with stakeholders across all levels of the business to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient workflow solutions.
You will become a key point of contact for senior business staff to provide technical guidance on strategic plans to enhance and grow the technology platform, including Visualfiles and it’s 3rd party integrations with various systems.
Your work will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, improving user experience, and supporting the firm’s commitment to continuous technological advancement.
*This role can be a hybrid role based out of our Stockport, Leeds or London office or a fully remote role*

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Visualfiles workflows and applications.
- Deliver high-quality, efficient code and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Visualfiles development and integration.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyse requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Oversee testing, deployment, and post-release support activities.
- Champion UI and UX excellence within workflow and application development.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other members of the development team.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, delivering timely and effective 3rd line support.
- Contribute to wider technology strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with Case Managers, Property Lawyers and senior staff to identify key opportunities
- Build, maintain and monitor the Visualfiles robots and automated systems.
Core Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) developing and maintaining solutions within Visualfiles.
- In-depth understanding of Visualfiles architecture, scripting, and workflow configuration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- A commitment to high standards of quality, usability, and maintainability.
- Experience with data flow in and out of Visualfiles.
Desirable Technical Skills:
- Experience with SQL / T-SQL, SSRS, and SOS systems.
- Familiarity with Pro2SQL integration.
- Exposure to modern development tools, version control, and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with Jira and an agile methodology.
- Knowledge of the OpenEdge architecture and it’s configuration.
- Familiarity with Visualfiles upgrades.
