Risk Supervisor

ONP Solicitors, part of the exciting Movera family of home-moving brands (including Cavendish Legal Group and Conveyancing Alliance), is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk Supervisor – Remortgage to join our team at our state-of-the-art Stockport office. The Role
As a Risk Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional service by our Operations teams. Performing key tasks, including completing title checks, completion sign offs and file reviews. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of UK Finance Handbook requirements and SRA Codes of Conduct to recognise, prevent and control risk within the wider department. Drawing on the ability to review a large volume of data with exceptional attention to detail, whilst providing instruction and guidance to more junior members within the wider team.
You'll contribute towards driving quality assurance, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. This is your chance to help shape best practices, mentor more junior team members, and contribute directly to our continued success.
This is a permanent, full-time position (Monday-Friday) at our modern Stockport office. After initial training, the role will by hybrid, two days a week minimum in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completion Sign Offs to ensure that all necessary steps have been taken to allow completion to ensure that we are able to register the transaction following completion
- Maintain knowledge of the legal documentation and process to offer clear and consistent guidance to members of the wider operations team explaining the reasons why a file needs to be passed back and for further actions to be taken, as set out clearly in the handover notes
- Maintain up to date knowledge of UK Finance Handbook requirements and SRA Codes of Conduct to recognise, seek to prevent and control risk within the department.
- Checking Title Documents against lender Mortgage Offers to provide advice to Case Managers on documentation required to ensure lender requirements are dealt with and the lender’s charge can be registered upon completion
- Carry out internal file reviews, following the company’s File Review Policies and Procedures
- Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist with introducer file audits as business needs require
- Deliver against personal targets explained to you by your manager and in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) agreed with Operations.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Monitoring and checking evidence of action completions to ensure compliance within the Firm’s relevant risk and quality frameworks
- Support internal teams by providing guidance on quality assurance processes and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with management to implement quality improvement initiatives and training programmes.
- Any other duties as required by the business

- Confidentiality & Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
The Person:
- This role would suit an experienced Remortgage Case manager or Conveyancer who can demonstrate an interest in and experience of dealing with risk and quality.
- Possess a willingness to learn new skills and embrace training and development in any areas the business deems appropriate to your role
- Able to work flexibly and efficiently to meet internal and external customer needs, whilst maintaining the highest possible professional standards
- Resilience with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, for example according to upcoming completion dates.
